Snow sports enthusiasts who want to make the most of their money when heading to the slopes this winter may wish to consider ski holidays in Bulgaria.
According to research from the Post Office, the Borovets resort could prove to be the least expensive for skiers and snowboarders this season.
The Ski Resort Report reveals that cost of living and ski equipment are both relatively cheap during a ski holiday in Bulgaria, with Romanian and Slovenian ski holidays completing the top three.
"It’s important for ski holidaymakers to pick a resort that suits their expertise and matches their expectations," said Post Office head of travel services Helen Warburton.
"For those people and for bargain hunters, Bulgaria and Romania represent excellent value."
Ski holidays in Italy at the La Thuile resort also made the top five, with the French resort of Les 3 Vallees also featuring in the top ten for value.
The Bulgarian resort of Borovets is considered the oldest ski resort in the country, with a history that can be traced back to the 19th century.
