There are reportedly a number of destinations in the Baltic state of Bulgaria that are suitable for ski holidays.
This claim comes from RentByOwnerBg who recently conducted market analysis which highlights that Bansko is the main ski destination in Bulgaria, with Pamporovo and Borovets also top choices.
Sofia News Agency recently reported that a €50 million investment between the Chepelare Municipality and business investors is to be made into a new ski resort on Bulgaria’s Rhodoppe Mountain.
To be built close to the town of Chepelare, the Mechi Chal resort will be situated in the Chala region and it is hoped that the investment will turn the mountain town into a major international centre for winter sports tourism.
Work will get underway in three stages, extending over a period of five years, with phase one due for completion by the end of 2008.
Investment money will go towards the restoration of an existing ski lift and the building of a new lift.
