Bansko Best For Beginners
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007
A list of the top resorts suitable for those new to ski holidays has been released and the Bulgarian resort of Bansko features towards the top.
Compiled by the Guardian, Bansko is placed at number two in the list and is recommended for its good range of nursery slopes and modern lift system, which make it great for those on family ski holidays.
Bansko may also be a good choice for those on group ski holidays who are at different levels of competence as the newspaper notes that there is also a "superb" 16 km intermediate run stretching from the top lift down towards the bottom of the mountain.
The publication notes: "Bansko is a World Heritage Site surrounded by spectacular mountains. Skiing here is great value."
Bansko is beaten only by the France ski resort Les Arcs, which has a free beginner’s lift and a British-run ski school in Vallandry, New Generation.
Les Arcs 1950 is scheduled to open for winter skiing on the weekend of December 15th.
