Friday, January 18th, 2008

Snow has continued to fall on resorts in the UK, Europe and across the Atlantic, with Austria being a main recipient.
The Ski Club of Great Britain reports that a metre of snow has fallen in some resorts with daily snowfall being an occurrence for some regions.
Ski Club rep Simon White described conditions in Austrian ski resort Mayrhofen as "excellent".
"We started the day on the Hintertux glacier and had some great skiing in the morning with good weather, but the wind picked up by lunchtime so we dropped down into some more sheltered terrain. What a day," he said.
Meanwhile, Tignes has seen much fresh snow in recent day and snowboarding conditions are reputed to be "fantastic".
It was recently reported by Cheapflights that Geneva airport opens a "gateway" to ski holidays resorts like Verbier and Chamonix, as well as Tignes.
