Snow enthusiasts looking to enjoy a Christmas ski holiday this year will be in for a musical treat if they head to Austria for their ski breaks.
MTV award-winning Barbadian singer Rihanna is set to open the first weekend of the ski season in the Austrian ski village of Ischgl with a performance at dusk on December 1st.
Rihanna recently won a handful of MTV awards for best video and single of the year for her song Umbrella, which was number one in the UK charts for ten weeks.
"We are excited to announce Rihanna as our opening concert star. Her concert will launch the new season in the traditional Ischgl style and set the scene for a great season of skiing and partying," tourist director for the Austria ski resort Andreas Steibl commented.
Ischgl is certainly a popular ski holiday break for those looking for great quality apres ski as well as top skiing and snowboarding conditions on the mountain.
In the past celebrities including Elton John, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Pink, The Pussycat Dolls and Scissor Sisters have performed at the Austrian ski resort’s Top Of The Mountain concerts.
