Jump and Freeze in Westendorf
Monday, January 12th, 2009
Westendorf is preparing for its annual Jump and Freeze event next month, the lucky 13th for competitors!
The event sees competitors ski in to a pool filled with 20,000 litres of icy cold water, a common fun “rites of Spring†activity at the end of the season in ski resorts as the season ends in April, but unknown elsewhere in mid-February.
Jump and Freeze has grown from humble beginnings to become a major spectator event with thousands of spectators and a TV audience of millions.
In line with the media attention there has been a constant increase in the numbers of participants and spectators. Organisers are expecting 10,000 spectators this year.
The 13th “Jump & Freeze” take place on extra-lucky Friday the 13th February 2009 from 8pm at the nursery slope in the centre of Westendorf.
