Female Skiing In Austria
Monday, January 21st, 2008

While the Times reports that the ratio of men to women is seven to one in some European ski resorts, this is not always the case.
According to the newspaper, St Anton in Austria is attempting to reinvent itself as a female-friendly resort complete with a Wellness Centre, a series of Ladies’ Powder Weeks, yoga and aerobics classes and women’s ski-testing.
In terms of apres-ski, travel writer for the publication Kate Spicer notes that on ski breaks at the Austrian ski resort, women can enjoy visiting the local bars, a massage, swimming in an outdoor heated pool or visiting steam rooms and saunas in the evenings.
St Anton features a mixture of traditional and modern architecture and offers a wide range of difficulty pistes making it, arguably, well suited for those on group ski holidays comprised of members of differing abilities.
The resort contains a number of diverse discos and bars and is an "ideal choice for the hard-drinking, disco-loving, keen-for-action holidaymaker who can stand the pace of getting to bed late and being up for the first lift" according to ski resort guide Ski Europe.
