Colourful New Lift For Solden
Friday, October 17th, 2008
Austria’s Sölden ski resort, which recently announced a partnership with the new indoor snow centre under construction at Hemel Hempstead near London, has announced that its new eight-seater chairlift will have bright orange pull-down weather protection covers.
The new eight-seater chairlift on the Giggijoch will be completed for the start of the coming winter season, although with fresh snow in the Alps Solden is already open for autumn Snowsports on its twin glaciers, and will host the first Northern Hemisphere outdoor Alpine Ski World Cup events later in October.
The new lift will replace a fixed-grip triple chair built in 1982 and will greatly improve traffic flows in the sector. The restaurant attached to the lift will also be extended.
