Austrian Ski Holidays Grow In Popularity
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Ski holidays in Austria were popular among holidaymakers last ski season, according to new research.
Crystal Ski Holidays reports that the number of UK snow sports enthusiasts booking holidays in Austria grew by 2.8 per cent in the 2007-08 ski season compared to bookings the previous year.
According to Crystal Ski Holidays, the credit crunch may have played its part in Austria’s growth in popularity.
"Budget skiers have switched to Austria because it is offering good quality accommodation at good prices," commented the company’s managing director Mathew Prior.
However, France continued to be the most popular destination and was favoured by 37.5 per cent of skiers.
North America ski holidays remained unchanged in terms of demand this season in spite of the weak dollar, which Crystal attributed to "great snow" in Europe.
Nonetheless, the top pick of the ski resorts for the forthcoming 2008-2009 ski season was Whistler in North America.
