Austria Had The Best Snow This Week
Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Individuals looking to get on the piste and enjoy snowboard holidays are being advised that the best conditions are currently in Austria.
It has been reported that 30 cm (12") of fresh snow fell in Austria at the Piztal Glacier on May 1st and that this area currently has the best conditions for snowboarding in Europe, according to the Snowboard Club.
Although a lot of resorts will be closing this month in preparation for the summer season there are still a number of good resorts open with good conditions available for boarding.
In Sweden, for example, skiing under the midnight sun will soon be a possibility again with snow depths currently reported to be around 144 cm.
Switzerland Engelberg currently reports the deepest levels of snow at 495 cm.
There are three runs open in Italy at present, these can be found at the Presena Glacier above Passo Tonale.
