Virtually completely rebuilt in 2003, the Cairn proved one of the biggest hits of last winter with its first Total guests, who praised everything about the chalet, from its location and facilities to the style and quality of its finishing. Ski access is simple, with the Aeroski gondola and Palafour chairlift within 3 minutes’ walk, and a shuttle bus stop just outside to access the lifts at Val Claret. The resort centre is also only a couple of minutes easy walk. The location on Tignes’ lake shore also provides stunning views across the lake from the lounge, terrace, and hot-tub to the spectacular mountain face known as ‘The Fingers’, named after the narrow couloirs and ridges running down it. The face is illuminated at night with a gentle, ethereal glow, and on clear moonlit nights, the view is still more sensational.
