Connected by the world’s largest cable car, the Vanoise Express, La Plagne and Les Arcs link to form the world’s third largest ski area: the Paradiski. La Plagne has wide-ranging snow sure pistes and Les Arcs has many high slopes, including some great long descents: combine the two and you have one of the most exciting and diverse ski areas in the Alps. La Plagne itself is a vast ski resort, with an enormous vertical drop of 2,000m (6,562ft). One of Europe’s largest resorts, La Plagne is made up of ten ‘villages’: six purpose-built and four traditional, all connected by public transportation and a lift system
