1550mArinsal and the neighbouring town of La Massana provide easy access to the Vallnord ski area, better known as Arinsal and Pal. Visitors staying in the attractive village of Arinsal have easy access to the Arinsal ski area at 1950m via a gondola from the village centre. Guests in La Massana connect to the Pal ski area via a sleek 12 person gondola departing from the newly-built Hotel Magic Ski Telecabina. At both ski centres, visitors will find everything they need in the one place – a beginner’s ski area, the ski school meeting point, a crèche and ski kindergarten, ski hire shops, ski lockers and a choice of restaurants. The ski areas are quite different with Arinsal providing wide, gentle slopes leading back to the ski base and Pal offering lots of pretty, tree-lined runs. A 50 person cable car spanning a wide valley via Col de la Botella links Arinsal and Pal, making it easy for visitors to explore both ski areas from either village. The nearby ski area of Arcalis is also covered on the Vallnord lift pass and is serviced by a daily ski bus service from La Massana.

Beginners
Both Arinsal and Pal are perfect areas to learn to ski or snowboard. Situated at the top of the gondola, Arinsal’s beginner area has doubled in size after €7million of investment. Pal also has a gentle nursery area situated next to the ski centre base. Both areas have excellent ski schools with many native English speaking instructors and there is never a shortage of easy runs to progress onto.
Intermediate
In Arinsal, intermediates will enjoy several gentle blue and red runs from Cota 2100m leading back down to the ski base. Higher up, from Pic Negre, there are some rather more demanding red runs. Over in Pal, there is a good choice of tree-lined runs, providing a good contrast to Arinsal.
Advanced
There is little to stretch the advanced skier in Arinsal or Pal, apart from a steep, unpisted black run descending from Pic Alt de la Capa to the bottom of the Port Negre trails. However, Arcalis, 25km away and accessible by a daily bus service from La Massana, provides more demanding runs and some great off-piste opportunities.
Snowboarding
For beginner and intermediate boarders there is plenty of varied terrain to enjoy in Arinsal and Pal, plus a fantastic 40000m2 freestyle area including a half-pipe, jumps, fun boxes, quarter-pipe, boarder-cross and chill-out area.
Apres SkiArinsal is a small, friendly ski resort offering a choice of restaurants, a few shops and several lively bars, plus for those who want to stay up until the wee hours, a couple of late night bars and discos. Further down the valley, La Massana is larger in size and offers a good choice of restaurants and several bars yet the atmosphere is a little more low-key. There are some good off-slope activities to choose from and great shopping in the capital, Andorra La Vella, a 15-20 minute bus ride away.
